Hi there fellow Belgians in Melbourne. We're introducing our monthly Manneken Pils get-togethers where we will catch up every first Thursday of the month at different venues in/around the city for some afterwork drinks.
This will be a great opportunity to connect and network with other Belgians in Melbourne and bring the Belgian community in Melbourne and surroundings closer together.
It's not a Belgian only event, everybody is welcome, please feel free to bring your colleagues and friends as well.
September Manneken Pils: Thursday 6th of September from 6pm onwards @ Arbory Bar (Flinders Walk, Melbourne) - Right in between Flinders St train station and the Yarra River. No Belgian themed venue this time, but easily accessible by train so nobody has to count the number of pints one can drink.
We'll make ourselves visible with a Belgian flag. Hope to see you there.
The world cup 2018 went into the books with a new record. Never did the Belgians come so close to the title, and never did so many Red Devils' enthusiasts gather together in Melbourne. Legendary goals were celebrated while the Belgian playlist was put on repeat. As a cherry on the pie this period of patriotic gatherings was closed off with the Belgian National Day.
A big thank you to everyone who joined the events: it was LEGEND!
After a short break, the BCV will pick up where it has left. As of September there are a number of great events in the pipeline; monthly afterwork drinks, the yearly mussel event, Saint Nicholas and a pick-nick.
Hello all Aussie Belgians out there. With a fantastic World Cup campaign still fresh in our memories, our Belgian national proud is stronger than ever. It's time to celebrate again with a casual get together for the Belgian National Day this Saturday the 21st of July.
We will start from 12pm onwards at The Castle Hotel (56 Courtney St - North Melbourne), th true Belgian hub in Melbourne and the ideal location for our National Day Celebrations.
There will be plenty of great Belgian beers and meals packaged in great deals. Please feel free to bring along your non-Belgian friends, colleagues, family and neighbours. It will be a great day to honour our cultural background and show Melbourne the Burgundian nature of the bravest nation of all.
See you on Saturday!

Again, The Castle Hotel is going to provide brekkie, delicious coffee and the full Belgian beer range. As this event is going to be published with the French community, we have to make sure our colours are dominant. See you all there!!

YES! What an achievement by our red devils! Masterfully orchestrated by Roberto Martinez, our golden generation is finally shining.
The atmosphere at the Castle Hotel last Saturday was electric and the cheers of joy were heard all across Victoria. Great turnout at the early hours Saturday morning and thank you to the odd 100 people for attending. We're not finished yet as there are at least 2 more games to be played! Let's brew another pot of coffee and cheer on our Red Devils at the next game on Wednesday Morning at 4am!

Will the Belgians Samba through to the Semi-Finals?
Alfred Hitchcock couldn't have written it better. What thriller this game was! Well done to the boys in red to come back from a 0-2 against a tough Japan.
It's too early to go home, and so it was for the dozen or so Belgian fans at the Castle Hotel this morning. After a great rollercoaster of a game, the Belgians took home the bacon!
Speaking of bacon, the Castle Hotel put on a great breakfast line-up that has sure satisfied the hungry Belgian fans. We'll do it again in a few days time against the multi World Cup winners, Brazil. More info to follow, stay tuned...
Belgium - Japan (Tuesday morning 3/07 at 4am)
YES ! Our beloved Red Devils have made it to the final 16 at the World Cup Soccer in Russia !
Again they call upon us for full support to get them past Japan, all the way to the quarter finals !
We know it`s an early rise, but nothing beats watching this game on super large screen at The Castle Hotel together with the Belgian Party Crew which you undoubtedly remember from the BEL-TUN match last weekend.
Again we will be offered the full Belgian beer range (incl. super deal on Palm), but Stephen will be happy to get his best barrista in preparing us some great coffees. That could easily be aKompanied with brekkie ranging from Croque Monsieur, fries, wedges, frikandellen and with a decent crowd we might be able to pursuade him to make pancakes or waffles ! For the occasion, we even made a new dish called "Toast Batshuayi"! Come over to the Castle to find out what it is!
So let`s all join together for this early one, as we all look forward entertaining you for an even bigger party the following weekend !!
Belgium in the Quarter Final (Saturday morning 7/07 at 4am)
If we get passed Japan, our Quarter Final game would be either versus Brazil or Mexico. We've never beaten either of them in a World Cup, but if there is a team that is capable of doing exactly that, it is our current generation of Belgian players!
As per the Japan game, we'll also organise the event at the Castle Hotel in North Melbourne. This time, the game would be played on Saturday morning 7/07 at 4am. Hope to see you all there as this will be a fantastic event with lots of suspense!
No celebrating yellow cards as Belgium well and truly dominated a passive England with our still greatly talented B-Squad! How about that goal by Januzaj! But unfortunately Michy "Bashyoureye" Batshuayi took away his thunder by his unique goal celebration.
It does bring us in a tougher draw, but we know from history that an easier draw is not always a guarantee to go through to the next round (European Championship 2016 vs Wales comes to mind).
So let's stick together and cheer them on through to the next rounds! Japan and Brazil/Mexico await!
What a success, this must have been the biggest Belgium party in Melbourne ever. We were with close to 200 enthusiastic supporters chanting "Waar is da feestje, Hier is da feestje" and "Tous ensemble, tous ensemble, hey hey hey!", fuelled with delicious Belgian beers. The Castle Hotel is such a great place for Belgians in Melbourne. And what a win! The Red Devils really showed their quality and the whole world saw a team that can be very succesful this World Cup. The plan to colour Fed Square red at the World Cup Final day still stands! Thanks everybody for joining and see you again for the upcoming matches! #REDTOGETHER
