Collingwood Children's Farm - 3 May 2009
Last Sunday (3 May) was a big success: it was a beautiful sunny autumn day, many Belgians came to the Collingwood Children?s Farm, with and without children and some brought their non-Belgian friends who were also very welcome of course. There were many new faces which was very pleasing to see: young and old! Luckily, we could find each other due to the little Belgian flag, which took a little battering along the way! I think we were 30-40 adults and many children.
We had a lovely picnic under the trees, some had a late lunch in the Abbotsford Convent, kids were riding donkeys, had a hayride, milked the cows, could pet the guinea pigs etc. We all had fun and it was very interesting to meet Belgians from all over Belgium. Some just arrived in Melbourne, some are already living here for 30 years...We were all very enthousiastic about this second picnic and we hope there will be more soon!
