5 December: St. Nicolas/Sinterklaas
Alma Rd Community House, St Kilda East.
|
Daar wordt aan de deur geklopt, hard geklopt, zacht geklopt.... three knocks and a new
enchanting world of presents and sweets emerged for 35 kids - 4hrs long. Every year Sint and his servant arrive in Melbourne with their steamboat. This year the Sint has
chosen again the Alma Community House in East St Kilda. And it was a good choice; along with a nice sunny weather the children could play with their new toys, make their own Pietenhat, colour in some Sint paintings, sing along with Flemish and French Sinterklaas songs, taste the freshly baked Zwarte Piet cake or play on the adjointing playground. And young and old could enjoy the Belgian waffles, pepernoten, frikandellen, speculoos pasta and of course some nice jewels of Belgian beer varieties. |
And the children were so well behaved and waited nicely until Sint has given the sign to open their
presents (even Piet had left his brown bag in Spain as there were no naughty children this year). He assured the Belgian Club Victoria (BCV) that it's all worth the long trip and he definitely will come back next year with more toys, delicious candy and new ideas to give the children an even better time. Thanks Sint and Piet,
we have enjoyed it too. Enjoy the pictures. |
